CONNECTING TO SUPPORT

Linkage to Care Peer Support connects people seeking recovery with peers who understand their situation. Get the best support from people who have been successful in their own recovery journey.

If you are interested in becoming a peer support specialist please visit the Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services website to learn more.

WHAT IS A PEER?

Peers are our recovery outreach specialists. They have experienced many, if not all of the situations that we assist with including past incarceration, homelessness, and addiction. They are familiar with the barriers that keep people from the help they need and are in a unique situation to be able to provide help and empathy.

WHY IT WORKS

Connecting with someone who has been there provides a unique opportunity for support. Our peers are able to give support and offer recovery resources without judgement to help their clients achieve their self-directed goals.

MEET THE PEERS
Chris Hayes

Hello, my name is Chris Hayes. As a Peer Support Specialist – meaning someone with lived experience who has had success in recovery – my job is to support you on your recovery journey, helping you achieve success however you define it. I’ve been there. I get it. I’m just here to help.

WHAT IS LINKAGE TO CARE PEER SUPPORT?

Linkage to Care Peer Support connects those in need with essential services through the people who understand their situation best. Their understanding and nonjudgemental approach makes it easier to get the right resources to the people who need it most.
